Rachel Herrington For District 2

Rachel Herrington has always had a desire to help the world around her. She started her career as a law enforcement officer in Virginia. During this time, the need for a positive relationship between the people and their local government became clear to her.

After meeting her husband and three wonderful step-children, she chose to switch her career to something more stable for a family. She briefly worked as a rapid rehousing case manager for domestic violence survivors transitioning out of emergency shelters. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a concentration in forensics in 2023.

She is currently teaching part-time and working on her master’s degree to be a licensed clinical mental health counselor. Rachel believes that making her corner of the world better is a personal responsibility.

Now, making the world a better place means representing District 2 of Lee County, North Carolina. It means saying no to fracking and data centers that want to come into our community to use our resources without any return benefit. It means protecting our waterways and rural farmland. It means being an advocate for small, local businesses. It means making sure that Lee County stays a wonderful place to live now, and becomes even greater for future generations.
